SPALAX Automated Radio Xenon Sampler/Analyzer
SPALAX Automated Radio Xenon Sampler/Analyzer
Online compact and reliable measurement of 131mXe, 133Xe, 133mXe, 135Xe isotopes Initially designed by the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
Applications:
- Continuous separation and monitoring of Radio Xenon Monitoring Worldwide Network
- Mobile lab version (upon request) for on site Radio Xenon survey around nuclear sites
Features:
- Sampling stage using polymeric permeation membranes for complete elimination of O2, water vapour and CO2
- Trapping at ambient temperature (no cryogenic system required) with very efficient elimination of Radon
- Built-in generator of pure nitrogen used as carrier gas
- Small size ovens for gas concentration
- Super-concentrator of Xe: enrichment of 3.5 million times from Xe sampled
- Simple detection system using rugged low background noise gamma spectrometer for direct measurement of the four isotopes. Connection to other type of detector upon request
- Unattended operation on site with remote maintenance diagnosis via modem
